CARE HOMES FRIEND PROJECT
Do you have just 1 hour to spare a week? Seedfield in conjunction with Bury Churches Together is setting up a Care Homes Friend project under the umbrella of Embracing Age.
We all waste much more than 1 hour a week so please consider becoming a friend to one resident in a local care home who may no longer see a friend or even a family member because of relocation, work commitments, etc. Give just 1 hour a week to meet for coffee or just to chat, look at photos - just to do what friends do. Full training will be given and a suitable friend allocated. All you will have to do is make that 1 hour commitment. "Whatever you do for the least of these....."Matthew25 vs40.
For more information or if you would like to volunteer contact Mary Smith - email@example.com or 07928 520337.
CONGRATULATIONS TO CAP
As we at Seedfield Methodist Church together with other local churches support regularly Christians Against Poverty’s Centre at Bury & Radcliffe, it is such great news to share that 101 families across the board have recently become debt-free in the space of a week! The founder of CAP, John Kirkby, states the difference from the early days celebrating 100 debt-free clients in a year.
Please remember the Boaz project, as printed in the notices last week, and purchase just 1 extra item of toiletries –eg. Toothpaste, toothbrush, anti-perspirant/ deodorant, for both men and women, and place them in the Boaz box situated in the church.
BOOKING OF ROOMS FOR CHURCH ACTIVITIES
Please be aware that all bookings for using any part of the church building, whether church related or external, must be checked and booked through Sherryl Harrison. There are specific forms to complete which are on the wall outside of the Limefield room. Currently the hall or side rooms are not available throughout the year on Monday mornings and evenings, Tuesday afternoons, Wednesday mornings and evenings, all day Thursdays, Friday afternoons and evenings.
The next visits into the local Care Homes will be next Wednesday the 18th and Thursday the 19th.
Wednesday 2.00pm at Burrswood House and 3pm at Limefield Court
Thursday 10.30am at Brookdale then across at at house 2 Brookdale.
We appreciate that the residents cannot get out to church so a group of us go to them and lead a small, informal church service which comprises singing hymns and choruses, a reading and a short talk. The talk this time will be by our own Revd. Sharon Read. Please feel free to join us at one or all services. We meet 10 minutes before in reception.

CELEBRATION FAITH LUNCH
On Sunday 29th October we will be celebrating the end of our Messy Church Fun Club with a special service and Faith Lunch afterwards. The whole church is invited to join together to give thanks for all God has done. We will be inviting all the Messy Church Fun Club families to come along also, and as a special blessing to them we would like our regular Seedfield attendees to provide the lunch. So please bring donations of food on that Sunday and join us for fun, food and fellowship. We hope you can be there!
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
The last day for bringing the shoe boxes is Sunday 5th November.
CHURCH SOCIAL WEEKEND AWAY
This year there will not be a ‘formal’ Church Weekend Away with a structured programme of teaching sessions and guest speaker. However, we are booking a different hotel in Lytham for any people interested in simply having a social time away together.
You will be able to organise their own activities during Saturday and Sunday in whatever size of social groups you choose. We will organise some form of social activity on the Saturday evening after dinner. If you are interested in joining up for a weekend to socialise and enjoy relaxation together then please take a flyer from the back of church. Bookings would have to be made by Sunday 12th November.
