A PRAYER FOR THE FELLOWSHIP
As this day begins, we turn to you, our God.
By you Holy Spirit, be with us in all we face.
In each step we take, walk by our side.
In every conversation, guide our thoughts.
In all our actions, show us your way.
In our challenges, grant us wisdom.
And at the end of the day, we commend to you,
Our faults, failings and frailty.
Just as we commit to you, our devotion, dedication and discipleship
In the name of Jesus Christ, our beginning and the end.
Paul Martin, Bolton and Rochdale District Chair.
CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE?
Many people will know that Hannah Boaden is soon to finish her Masters degree in Edinburgh. Hannah has also been studying horticulture during her final Masters year. She has successfully found a position to continue with horticulture at Threave Castle near Castle Douglas in Scotland. She is very thankful for the prayers and support she has received during this time, and is aware of God’s guidance. However, where she is living and working will be a little remote and the public transport is not very good. If anyone has economical but reliable car they want to sell or they know someone who does, could they please contact Susan or Tim Boaden.
Please ensure that ALL room bookings are made via Sherryl Harrison and confirmed if it is an event taking place.
All baptisms, weddings and funerals to be booked FIRST with Rev Sharon Read who will make the necessary arrangements.
Please ask the relevant person before borrowing and removing any equipment from the building.
After all meetings, events and services, please ensure everything is tidied away and clean. All room users should have recently received a similar letter regarding the care of the building.
Today at 6.30pm you are invited to Fruitfulness on the Frontline Cafe Worship. An opportunity to think through the teaching and discussions and consider where we as individuals and the people of Seedfield go from her. Come along for coffee, cake, chatting and most importantly giving thanks to God.
After 9 years I will be finishing doing Brownies at the end of July. We have a full unit with 25 girls but currently only 1 other leader, which means that if no one else steps in the unit will have to close. This would be a huge shame, especially as I've just realised this year is the unit's 75th anniversary! If you, or someone you know, would be able to help or just want more info, please contact me. You'd be more than welcome to come along, see what we do and learn the ropes before the summer. Thanks in advance! Helen
Please hold the Bury Circuit in your prayers as we begin conversations about submitting a profile for Presbyterial Minister to join the circuit team in September 2019 and for our minister Sharon as she begins her preparations for submitting her profile. Some members of the Leadership Team are meeting shortly to think through our part of the profile. Stationing Matching takes place early November 2018.
DATE FOR THE DIARY
Sunday 5th August we will be focusing our services to the work of Tearfund. For more information please see www.tearfund.org this will be a service of light with no electricity to highlight that ONE BILLION PEOPLE around the world are living in literal darkness. one in seven people don’t have any access to electricity. This is going to be a fantastic service as we consider how Jesus calls us to shine brightly.
PETITION TO FREE LEAH : please add your signature today
LEAH is one of 110 girls abducted from their school in Dapchi, Nigeria by Boko Haram in February 2018. After negotiations by the government, the girls were put into trucks to go home – but Leah wasn’t among them. She was the sole Christian and was not released because she refused to convert in exchange for her freedom. With extraordinary courage, she decided her faith was worth more than her freedom; she was forced out of the truck and watched her classmates be driven back to safety without her. This petition, organised by CSW: Everyone Free to Believe, will go along with other calls to the Nigerian High Commission in London this week (18th July) to urge them to work for Leah’s release and safe return to her family.
For more details and signing the Petition please see sheet by the White Board, or Tim who is sending the Petition.
